Symmetricom’s chip-level atomic clock SA.45s has a power consumption as low as <115mW, and its volume is only <16cc. For the first time, a portable watch can also have the accuracy and stability of an atomic clock. SA.45s output standard CMOS level 10MHz and 1PPS signal, short-term stability (Allen variance): 2E-10 (@1s) long-term aging rate 3E-10/month, temperature characteristic 5E-10 (-10℃~+ 70℃), and wide temperature products (-40℃~+70℃) can be selected. The power consumption is slightly higher, and the temperature characteristics will be slightly reduced.
The 1PPS output of SA.45s can be synchronized to the 1PPS of the external reference clock with an accuracy of ±50ns. 1PPS input can also be used to lock its 1PPS and frequency output to 1ns and 1.0E-12 respectively.
SA.45s comes with a standard CMOS level RS-232 serial interface for controlling and calibrating the device. It also provides a series of status monitoring. It can even read the internal clock time information (TOD) of CSAC.
SA.45s supports setting to work in ultra-low power consumption mode. At this time, its physical package will be temporarily closed, and the work of the device is similar to the state of a free-oscillating TCXO. At the same time, the physical package will periodically activate and re-lock the TCXO. The average power consumption in this mode only needs to be <50mW.
